Liberating Structures Presentation

David Powe

Partner and Lead Consultant

I enjoyed Chris’ presentation on Liberating Structures very much. During the presentation, we made progress on a problem that we had for years. The group was left more positive than I’d seen in years.

A week after the presentation, I was able to use one of the techniques she presented with my own meeting. The group was energized and enabled to make progress on a shared group problem.

2019 Engineering Symposium Rochester Presentation

Michael Towey

Senior Rail Safety Engineer

Glad to attend the lecture on ‘Engineering Your Job Lessons from SW Engineering’ at the 2019 Symposium. The process describing teams working in SCRUM provides a context for peer review in the development phase which is often a missing link for SW Systems Assurance. Thanks for that lecture.

Working with Friday Path

Isabelle Pippin

Project Engineering Manager

I asked Isabelle what she thought about working with me. This is what she said.

You are a good leader.  I am impressed at how you treat your colleagues with respect and allowing everyone to work in their own space.

You always are attentive to your staff’s needs and that they are happy to be at work because you think it is important and believe that if people are happy, then they will be more productive… You always ask; “Do you have everything you need? Can I help you?” …

You also change your management approach specific to the person with whom you are working. That is a very important management style to have since everyone is different.

You are a responsible person and take charge of all aspects of any task assigned to you thoroughly and well organized.  When you execute a work plan, you ensure that you have the right amount of information you need to complete the task in a timely manner and of great quality.

You are a good collaborator and have very good communication skills that are widely applicable. If someone has a different approach, you always try to compromise and be sure that you can do what you have to do, while respecting the other person…

You are a good writer and can explain difficult technical information. For instance, during the project we worked together, you learned about a completely new subject matter that you have never been exposed to before.  After a short time, you were able to write the technical document with enough details and knowledge of the subject to satisfy the customers who has been working in this field for many years.

It has been a pleasure to work with you.
